HISTORY OF DWHD
Well at first there was the Dragon Warrior series for Nintendo created by Enix. A creative mind and some time on my hands I picked up RPG Maker 2000. I had found some DW sprites to use and decided to make a game based from my favorite game series. Started mainly with just DW4 stuff. Looking on the net I came across some stuff from someone that played Dragon Warrior Online. Interested I decided to try this game out.
After Installing byond and logging in I saw one of byond's oldest and most popular games at that time. Not very long, but with a DW feel it was great game. Soon, came SoE. At that time SoE was a simple game, but had more to do then DWO. DWO soon died out due a long wait for an update. SoE was getting a few, but didnt have the crowd DWO used to host. SoE updated slowly and soon there came little to do.
I started messing with byond code and made the first version of Dragon Quest Hero's Legacy. It was heavily influenced by another byond game, and was used as my learning tool. The game had a good half year run before it's lack of parties and good coding became problems. But SoE was in new hands and I just got my mod status there. We decided to make a new SoE and I began mapping like crazy.
SoE has been picked up by it's original coder and new updates where in the plans. I became a GM there and we watched ts community grow. DWHD was getting a good amount of players but due to host problems the game's numbers dwindled. I started doing some work for SoE and made a byond version of Dragon Warrior 1.
It took a while due to issues with life, but I started again working on a byond project. I extended the system of DWHD to give it a more DW feel. Fixed alot of major bugs. Soon I realized if i was going to go with a new system I needed a new game. With some help I got the game running smooth. DWHD2 is probably my most impressive project yet.
